The Manual Barrel Gripper - also known as Parrot Gripper - is a tool for lifting drums. It is suitable for 210 liter steel drums with a 580mm diameter.
The barrel gripper insures a safe handling of the drum with no risk of personnel injury or damage on the drum. The tool is ideal for confined areas where drums are tightly packed, furthermore it is manufactured entirely in stainless steel making it suitable for hygienic areas. The barrel gripper does not work well with empty drums.
The fully automatic mechanism uses the drums weight to lock the drum in place ensuring the load cannot come loose under use and when maneuver in rough terrain.
The mechanism is shaped as a parrot beak. It works by the lower jaw is placed just under the drum rim/lip and when lifting, the upper jaw will automatic be lowered around the top of the drum rim. The adjustable bottom support block holds the drum in place. It is easy to adjust the height of the support block by simply pulling out the two linch pins and the two locking pins, finding the suitable height for the drums, and then insert the locking and linch pins.
